Oct. 14: The Miners attempt protect their No. 1 ranking on the road against the No. 2 Beetdiggers.

Since a 38-20 loss to Nevada's Bishop Gorman on Sept. 4, Bingham has been nearly unstoppable. The Miners have outscored opponents 214-20 while racking up five consecutive wins. The past two games have been impressive shutouts of Cottonwood 28-0 and Taylorsville 38-0.

Bingham (7-1) is No. 1 in the Deseret News statewide rankings and boasts stars in running back Jahvontay Smith (eight rushing touchdowns) and defensive back Simote Lokotui (five interceptions).

Jordan (7-1) has been held to fewer than 50 points in a game just three times this season, and the statistics reflect the high-octane offense the No. 2 Beetdiggers deploy on opponents. Quarterback Drew Lisk has thrown for 2,737 yards and 24 touchdowns and rushed for 662 yards and 10 TDs.

This No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup has the potential to be an offensive shootout and is the reason it is our pick for the Top Game of the Week.
